Direct Medics is a leading medical recruitment specialist, supplying job opportunities exclusively to doctors across acute, primary care and mental-health positions in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

For our doctors, “The DM Way” means...

  • Upon registration you are assigned to a Recruitment Consultant who will welcome you to our company and be your contact throughout your time with us

  • All vacancies matching your preferences will be communicated promptly to you

  • You will receive all the guidance you require before, during and after every placement

  • You will be paid promptly – submit your timesheet by 12noon on Wednesday for payment that week

  • We encourage regular feedback from you on both the hospitals we supply to and on Direct Medics staff

Registration with Direct Medics

Registering with Direct Medics is simple.  Contact our recruitment team for help and advice on your chosen field and location of work, or complete our registration form online.

We will provide all the guidance you need to meet the standards of your ideal position.  Our administration team are experts on compliance and will prepare you for working in your chosen area by advising on


CV writing;
Police clearances;
Mandatory Training;
Occupational Health screening;
Occupational Health validation
Identity verification
Verification of relevant qualifications

Our staff will make arrangements for any of the required checks to be carried out as necessary. 

In order to ease the process of obtaining registration for medical practice in your chosen country, we will assist in mapping your qualifications and experience to ensure they comply with the appropriate medical employment regulations.  If a visa or work permit is required, we will advise on the appropriate body for applications.

 

Relocation & Induction

We recognise that beginning work in a new hospital or country can be stressful and can require considerable adjustment.  Our consultants are ready to support you with “onboarding” programs tailored to your specific needs. Before your arrival you will be offered the following key services to assist a successful relocation:

  • Assistance to choose the most suitable home within your budget range and criteria
  • Induction programme to your new job
  • Assistance with opening bank account
  • Assistance with obtaining social insurance number
  • Assistance with information on Educational and Healthcare facilities
  • Advice on relocating families

 

Pay & Benefits

We regularly benchmark our rates of pay, ensuring that Direct Medics remain competitive and attractive to the medical talent we recruit and retain. We are widely recognised by the doctors we serve as being the agency that not only pays well but pays promptly; with a weekly payroll our temporary doctors can wait as little as two working days for payment.   

In addition, we offer a range of flexible remuneration methods, and referral to expert advice from our sister company Connect Accountancy Solutions, where our doctors receive advice on all aspects of their accounts, from statutory audits and support services to company start-up support and taxation planning packages.  Connect will advise you on the method of payment for your work through Direct Medics which best suits your individual circumstances. 

 

Aftercare Programme

Securing employment using Direct Medics services is just the first step for many of our doctors.  We have designed our aftercare programme to ensure that you are completely satisfied with every aspect of their placement.  Your Recruitment Consultant will keep in regular contact throughout your placement and, as the placement comes to an end, they will work with you to gain meaningful feedback from both you and the employing organisation, aimed at enhancing your career prospects and further developing the information we provide to doctors considering work.
