Direct Medics holds a reputation for offering high quality services to both doctors and clients. This has been achieved through rigorous vetting which offer peace of mind to our clients in line with current framework procedures and in return offers continuation of job opportunities to our doctors.  For doctors wishing to undertake locum work in the United Kingdom, we are required to hold on file copies of the following annual certificates: -

  • Basic or Advanced life support (ATLS, APLS)
  • Lone Worker Training
  • Health & Safety
  • Caldicott Protocols
  • COSSH
  • RIDDOR
  • Infection Control
  • Handling Violence & Aggression
  • Complaints Handling

If you already hold certificates for the above courses, dated within the last 12 months, then we will require copies of these.

If not, we have the facility for you to complete all of the above courses (except Basic or Advanced Life Support) in a simple online session.

You will need the following to undertake the online sessions:

  1. A computer operating Internet Explorer.
    If you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser, please view the Instructions for Firefox Users" document
  2. The latest version of Adobe Flash Player on your system – the latest version is 11 Please use the following link http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
  3. A broadband internet connection

Step 1 –

We have negotiated a nominal fee for these courses. The fee covers all the above courses (except Basic or Advanced life support) enabling you to manage your online e-learning account and complete individual courses when it suits you. Click the "make payment" button to be taken to the Osmosis Training payment page.

Once you have completed payment you and Direct Medics will receive an email confirming your payment. We will then create an e-learning account with Osmosis Training Ltd for you and email these details to you within 1 working day.

Your login details which will consist of the following-

Candidate Login - yourname (First and Surname without spaces)
Candidate Password - GMC no. (Your 7 digit General Medical Council no.)
Candidate Pin - surname (Your Surname)

Once you have received your login details you will be able to access the above courses, available to complete online. There are a number of courses referred to as “live sessions” which require you to complete the course in a classroom based environment.

The above information will be issued in an email from elearning@directmedics.com, It will detail your login information as well as a list of courses and live sessions you are required to complete.

Step 2 -

Now that you are ready to take the courses you need to go to the Osmosis Training Ltd website and click on “Access to Lessons” displayed in the example below:

You will now be presented with a login screen, use the details provided in the email received from elearning@directmedics.com to login and begin your courses.

Once logged in you will see a screen with a list of courses you are required to take.
